Featured on The Roundup Panel
As a Black Queer woman, Karissa believes representation is imperative for her fellow BIPOC folx in the world of mental health. She graduated from Spalding University in Louisville, KY in 2014 with a Master of Social Work degree. With education being the forefront of her life, this accomplishment was the penultimate to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the beginning of her journey toward her PhD in Counseling Psychology at Texas Women's University in Fall of 2021. As a Psychotherapist, she works closely with those experiencing trauma related issues, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, addiction, identity issues, and more.
Black People of Queer Experience
We are licensed mental health professionals dedicated to uplifting, empowering and equipping folxs who are inherently under-tapped because of our intersectionalities. We are people, just like you, striving for equitable access to resources that we are excluded from because of the systems and institutions that are in place, working against us.
