2024 XKLusive ‘06k Race Honors Melanin Minds

Making Strides In Mental Health Awareness

For the past two years, the Sugarland, TX chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc has hosted a race benefiting local organizations aligned with the fraternity’s mission. Registrants can run or walk 5k for the cause, plus 1k to mark the chapter’s founding in ‘06. Sponsored by the Alexandria Foundation, the beneficiary for the 3rd annual race – Making Strides in Mental Health Awareness – is Houston-based non-profit Melanin Minds.

Melanin Minds Board Member Rozella Haydeê-White and Advisory Board Member Muriel Foster were in attendance, cheering on over 220 runners. A portion of proceeds was donated to Melanin Minds, presented to LaGina R. Harris by Race Chair Sherman Harness.
