Denise Coke
Denise’s artistic journey started at the tender age of 2 when she would draw in all of the books around her house. After acquiring a certificate in Fashion Design from HSFI, Denise received her BFA in Graphic Design from the Shintaro Akatsu School of Design at the University of Bridgeport and studied abroad at Hanyang University in South Korea.
Award-winning creative director and owner of $NP Designs, Denise ‘deLaSNP’ Coke specializes in graphic design, branding, web design and development, motion design, animation, illustration, UX/UI design, and augmented reality for more than a decade.
Currently, she serves as a Senior Designer at Orange Label Advertising Agency and oversees creative implementation in various healthcare and retail properties. Previously, she was a designer for The Madison Square Garden Company working on various properties from the New York Rockettes to the New York Knicks, and served as the lead motion graphic designer for the New York Rangers.
One of her greatest passions is travel; as she has been inspired by the different aesthetics that she has seen on trips to places like South Korea, Abu Dhabi, and Puerto Rico. She’s the proud mom of 2 kitties and a tattoo enthusiast.
On Mental Health + Art:
I believe that all Black art shouldn't surround pain and trauma so my pieces show magical places and positive images of Black people, specifically Black women. I want to give a safe space to viewers to engage with the artwork.
